Ford 4500 TLB hard nose

jeudi 20 novembre 2014

Hey folks,

I am in the process of rebuilding the engine in my 4500 and have an issue that I thought someone might have some info on.

This tractor has the structural oil pan which bolts to the hard nose. One of the tabs on the bottom of the hard nose is broken off.

I was thinking of bolting a section of plate steel across to the good side to hold the broken piece fast and heating the whole works up and stick welding it. The problem is the only way I could think of to heat a piece that large was to put a large salamander close on it for a couple of hours.

Ideally I would replace it if I could find one. Does anyone know if this nose is common to other models?

Thanks in advance,

Brad

416b warning light / gauges

I have a 93 416b the warning light is on steady and the temp, oil, fuel and trans gauges read nothing. I have gone through the whole machine with filters and fluids. I have tested the gauges and I can get them to read by grounding. Does this mean all my sending units at bad?

Thank you

Ned info on a Komatsu D30S-15

Found a Komatsu D30S-15 crawler loader sitting on a lot, I assume for sale. I have searched for specs on this machine with no success.

Does anyone know anything about these machines? Weight, Horsepower? Are parts available?

Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tim

It has 4200 hrs on it and it has a problem when it sits for more when about 5 days it starts hard like its lost it's prime if u run it every day it starts like a champ. Once it running it runs like it should any one run into this problem ? I replaced all fuel lines to injector pump and there doesn't seem to have any fuel leaks . I was wondering if injectors r leaking down when sitting

I just picked up a 710B for a song. But like most deals i find it needs some work. :D

I have always found help on this forum so I thought I would start a thread on this backhoe and share what i find and fix along the way.

So far the electrical is a mess. Broken wires rusted or dissolved connectors bad or missing fuses.

She will fire right up and runs great. The loader and backhoe work well as well, But and you had to know there was one. She will not move under her own power.

In First or second gear she will surge a bit like its trying to engage but no go. With her up in the air same thing. Forward and reverse.

The higher gears do nothing.

I see no major leaks so far and oil level is good.

i will be changing all the filters and oils this weekend and taking a few photos to up load.

Any one have a idea on the transmission issue? That is if it still has this problem after oil and filter changes.

Excavator stalling under load

I have a Cat 311B and the last couple of times I was using it, loads that would normally do nothing to the machine are bogging the engine down to the point where a couple of times it actually stalled. The last time I was using it I was frigging around with it a bit and I thought I had cured the problem but about 3 hours into the day it started acting up again. It sounds like a lack of fuel issue because it seems to be intermittent. I can lift a small rock and almost stall it and then lift a huge rock and it does nothing. I am working on the theory of water in the fuel or a bad filter but I decided I would run it by the forum to see if anyone else had this problem in the past.
