Fastest Way to Clear a Small Area

Need to clear about an acre of brush/small trees in order to make room for a driveway/yard for a shop.

I was planning on hiring this done by the same guy who was going to do the dirt work for the building, but I'm not sure if that'll work out.

So I'm also looking into renting a Bobcat T630 with a Groundshark brush mower.

The brush isn't too terribly big, mostly under 2" in diameter, but it's fairly thick, spaced about every 6" or so.

Would the Bobcat and brush mower be enough machine for this? If so about how long would it take to clear about an acre or so?

As usual thanks for any and all info.

Gone with the wind

Contractor that has been around since the 40s locked it's doors this week due to poor health and no one to take over. Drove by the auction on the way to town this morning. They had let the equipment slide quite a bit. Most from the 60s and 70s. The bulk of their work was snow removal. Sad to see, but a lot of snow plowing contracts up for grabs for other smaller companies.

Quick change loader front for my Deere 710D backhoe loader

I would like to utilize different attachments for the front of my Deere 710D backhoe loader. Could I fabricate a SSQA front out of heavier than normal metal and expect skid steer attachments to hold up? The machine is considerably heavier than any skid steer. I would like to have the following attachments:

Pallet forks
Rock/ root grapple bucket
Roto tiller/ rock picker

One legged operator

Good day, I have a rather odd question. My daughters EX had a run in with a gang member and was shot in the leg. Yep, he is a wanna be gang member. Anyhow his job is operating an excavator. Don't know the make or model. My question is will he be able to return to that line of work since they had to amputate a leg above the knee. I could really care less about him but she gets child support from him for 2 kids. Fortunately he is not in their lives very much.

Where To Store Money For Capital Expenditures?

In today's lousy interest rate environment, what is a saver to do?

When scraping together pennies over a long time to pay for some future large expense, I like the idea of investing in some sector that is at least remotely similar. For instance, my (meager) real estate savings goes into a REIT fund which hopefully will keep pace with any property I might like to buy in the future.

What about capital for trucks and equipment? That stuff is all going up fast too and I'd like my money to try to keep pace with it somehow. Unfortunately you can't easily buy shares of trucks and equipment like you can shares of a REIT.

What you can buy is broad industrials, materials, energy, industrial metals, etc. I wonder if one or all of those would be a "good enough" approximation?

I am strongly averse to debt so financing does not really get me excited. If it could even be procured for the old junk I tend to buy.

Or other ideas?
