lundi 26 décembre 2016

Hi, Apart from the age can anyone tell me the benefits a Cat 966C has over a Cat 966B...Also regarding the Cat 966C is there much ( if any) difference between the model 76J and 78G....I have advertised and have had replys about either machine I require the loader to do general farm clearing (stacking old logs etc) so will fit a set of log forks on the loader i buy... Greatly appreciate any replys...

Hitachi EX35-2 starting problem

Having a problem starting my Hitachi EX35-2 excavator with a kubota V1505 1996 engine.
Firstly it was running then spluttered stopped and would not start. Thought it was fuel problem and checked the filter bowl, no filter.
Have now gone through the whole system, new filter fitted, all hoses replaced, new electric fuel pump fitted, injection pump overhauled, checked resistance of glow plugs ok. Injectors l have tested appear to be ok. Checked the injection pump solenoid working fine.
I have had it started but it ran for 5 minutes then slowly the revs dropped off and stopped. I thought the injection pump was worn and losing pressure this is why I had the injection pump overhauled. Refitted the injection pump but I seem to be getting very little pressure at the injectors.
I am starting to tear my hair out with this problem anybody have any ideas or possible solutions.

Came upon a 1987 555 backhoe thinking of buying

This is my first post but I have been lurking in the shadows for a while now. I have been looking for a Backhoe & came upon a 1987 Ford 555 & I have a couple of questions & this seems to be the place to ask.
The engine and Tranny are in good shape. The owner had a new injector pump & injectors installed & had the fuel tank relined last year. It starts right up & the hydraulics seem strong. Cosmetically it is a mess but that is a easy fix. It needs rear tires & has a lot of rust in the cab. The floor is almost rusted out & there is rust on the walls, & the doors & glass are shot.. He really has not take care of it & needs all new grease fittings but it has no leaks that I can see but the hoses are dried. Now the bad news. Most of the pins if not all of them need replacement and it needs breaks & both steering rods & linkage needs work. The front bucket needs to be replaced & I need a wider digging bucket on the backhoe, right now it has a trenching bucket. It has no welds. I haven't even checked the lights or electrical. He wants $5000 for it but would probably take $4500.

It is going to be an "around my property machine" digging out stumps & moving dirt. The property is hilly so the breaks are a must both foot breaks & hand break. I really can't do the work on the breaks or pins myself as I don't even know where to start. So my question is do you guys think it is worth getting involved with it in the condition it is in & what do you think a mechanic would charge for breaks & pins, worst case scenario labor & parts. I can do most of the small work like the grease fittings & cosmetic & rust work & the electrical work. I know this machine is a monster & it is, as you guys know one of the cheapest 1987 machines I have seen & I have been looking for a while. The location is in the Hudson Valley N.Y.

Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jerry

Detroit 2-Cycles in 2017+

Junkyard's post on the winch trucks had me wondering about how much longer these antiques are going to be supported. Well lo and behold I found this:

http://ift.tt/2ixwcZc

According to that, they are still building new 53, 71 and 92 series for the military.

What kind of machines are they going into? What level of computerization? What level of emissions?

At least it is encouraging that they are still being made. Then we have a reasonable expectation of continued parts support for some time.

I know of only 2 still running in this county. I am sure there are more but you don't see them much.

Volvo EC240B Electrical issue... Need schematic

2007 Volvo EC240B SN 81066 North American build

Long story short, I have a ground wire melted bare at the main lug in the battery box. Its a perfect example of the current looking for better path. In this case the current melted a small wire because the primary ground lug bolt wasn't tight.

I have pulled the wire out of the loom for about 18", and it is completely bare. The remnants of the jacket is still there.

I need an electrical schematic to help locate the other end of this conductor.

Anyone have one handy?

Thanks,
Ken
