Mack dual steering box relief adjustment.

samedi 21 avril 2018

R series Mack with a national boom truck. Truck had rims on it with not enough offset, so it had a horrible turning radius, it does have a fairly long wheelbase that doesn't help. 425 floats up front.

I've installed new front rims with much more offset, and adjusted the axle stops in, so now I have at least some turn.

The problem is that it seems to stop turning at the old axle stop location. If I jack up the front end, it will go from stop to stop. If I'm sitting on the tires, with...

PTO on ALLISON MT643

View attachment 180242 View attachment 180242 View attachment 180242 Does anyone have any knowledge about Allison, PTO, or yard mule hydraulics. I've bought a fire truck, a 1990 GMC Top Kick 7000 It grosses at 28000 so I'll remove the fire body, and pump, add a flat bed dump body with sideboards. View attachment 180239 It won't carry tandem weight. I'd estimate body, and load together at 17000.

My engine is a Cat 3208Turbo. Try as I might I can't find room for an...

Its that time of year. Lets discuss ether.

Yet again, another call out on a machine that wont start when it gets cold. I show up and there is 4 empty cans of starting fluid laying on the ground by the machine. The machine had ice in the fuel line, and after 15 minutes with the forced air heater, it started, BY ITSELF. What say you about ether?

Howdy from an Indiana farmer

Just bought our first excavator, a JD 270D from Ritchie bros. It was a Minnesota Limited machine. 4800hrs. Waiting on a hydraulic thumb to start clearing trees. We farm in east central Indiana. So far i've fixed the radio (none of the buttons worked), wet sanded and polished the sunroof to make it transparent again, and straightened all the belly pans.

Gearing up for side work

Since I work 1 week on 1 week off wrenching I'm looking at getting some small side jobs on my time off. I'm looking to do it legitimately (ie no cash under the table).

So aside from registering a company, what will I need to do? Insurance seems like a smart idea. What about WCB? Will I need to pay into that as well even though I plan on being the only employee?

I'll likely be based out of Alberta but may try and pick up some work out of the province as well.
