Local 103 skills/permit question

Hi everyone. I have a skills test on a backhoe coming up to get in 103 on a permit. I can do pretty well on a backhoe. My question is how do they grade you and I was told it is also timed. Can anyone who has taken this give me any helpful information on this? Thank you.

Parts availability from CAT

Anyone else having issues getting parts besides me? Dealer told me that there is no 300HP 3306 camshafts in the country and the vendor is late with the shipment. Who is building their cams? I was told I can get a cam KIT, with bolts, gear, bearings, etc..... but its twice the cost for items I don't need. Luckily I found one myself or this project would be stalled. Its been happening a lot lately.

Hello All,

I noticed in the Maint. Manual that I purchased for our CAT 345BL that it talks about over-greasing and it can be bad. I never really thought you can over-grease and if you did you would just be wasting grease.

Can you technically over-grease and what can happen besides using more grease then what you need?

(2) We were using the CAT Desert Gold Grease, but changed over to the CAT Blue Multi Purpose Grease that is not so expensive. Any recommendations on grease...

Kubota KX121-3 Aux Hydraulic Thumb Problem

Looking for some help with aux hydraulic thumb problem on our 2007 KX121-3 Mini. When you activate the auxiliary thumb it works if you lightly work the rocker switch on the control to the left or right. If you press too hard left or right it will kick the aux hydraulics. It also sets a code 22 for left or 24 for right solenoid shorted. Once that happens you have to shut the machine down, start it back up to reset the code. NH L220 Interlocks Have Me Defeated

Since it appears that Winter is finally over in upstate NY, I felt it was safe to remove my snow plow the other day. So, my SS started up just fine, shut the door, engaged my "seat belt defeat" switch (has a seat belt in place of lap bar), pressed the "operate" button on the panel, & WTF!!
The seat belt light is still blinking & the brake light is on steady, & of course all hydraulic functions are locked out because of this!!
After appropriate cursing, I removed the snow plow the hard way...

Komatsu Hydraulic Fluid Recommendation?

what type (weight) oil should I use in the hydraulic system of a komatsu mini excavator? some information is showing standard hydraulic oil and some are showing 10w or 30w non-detergent motor oil.....
