THIS is a reply to an old post that i cant figure out how to get into.it was comparing an old 9 to a new 8 on power and weight.it stated that the new 8 has more of both? d9g,105000 or so with u blade and ripper,385 hp at 1375 rpm ,1420 ftlbs torque. d8t,85000 or so with ublade and ripper,305 hp at 2100 rpm,762 ftlbs torque.the engine power isnt as far off as it seems because the high drives use higher rpm engines and lower gearing to get same track speed.but the old 9,just like a new 9,outweighs an 8t by 20000 pounds.
