case 580m camshaft

Hi i need to change the rear timing gasket on a case 580m. Not the cover gasket but the one behind the housing. Is there any way of removing the camshaft gear without removing the cam shaft. It looks like the cam gear is the only major thing stopping me from getting the housing off. Does any one have a idea of what to do?
