I have a MTL-25 (Tak TL-150) which has a perplexing problem I am hoping someone can assist me with.
The machine has 3000 hours, and we just did a rebuild on the pump (not the whole pump...just the control sleeves actually, which wear out on these Sauer Sundstrand pumps). The main pumps are in great shape. My hydraulic repair shop put them on the test stand, and said they bypass less than .25 GPM at 5000 psi...they are like new. Everything on the machine runs great, but after about 30 minute of hard running, after we get it up to temperature (Hyd oil up to about 140+ degrees), the two speed drive stops working. When I press the high speed button, the light comes on, but it stops engaging the higher speed (lower travel motor displacement).
Here are some excerpts from the TL-150 Service Manual: I have highlighted the key areas in red.

When I first started running the machine after getting it back together, it had an oil leak from a spot where oil should never leak. The two speed was also not working like I noted above. My Hyd shop tech told me it sounded like charge pressure was too high, and I took some fluid out of the main tank, which was over filled. After that, the leak stopped, and the two speed worked.
It was not till recently that the two speed stopped working again. The tank is no longer over filled. When the fluid is full warm, the level is still below the limit line. It should not be over-pressurizing on the charge circuit.
Any ideas what could cause the two speed circuit to stop working like this after it gets warm.
Thanks in advance for your input.
