G'day all, I've been lurking on this forum for some time and decided to finally create an account.
I'm a New Zealander in my late 20s and have been in The construction industry in some form or another for all of my working life. I now work for a mid-large sized crane hire company, which has a fleet consisting of very modern All terrain cranes (3-6 axles) and Japanese rough terrain cranes. There are also truck loader cranes (where I am greatly experienced) and tractor-trailer units for carrying counterweights etc.
I love getting in the seat of earthmoving equipment when possible, but that is extremely rare. An hour in an excavator once a year is about it, and I'm far from being competent. I have spent a lot of time on a smallish wheel loader in a previous job, plus as a child often had a crack in a family members older Mustang skid steer, which may have triggered my interest in heavy equipment.
Some of my favourite threads on this forum are the rebuild threads, and those with lots of pictures of siteworks. Some of the top work being done, and the knowledge of many of the posters, is just astounding.
I look forward to being able to participate in some of these threads.
Cheers.
