feeling out the market need opinions and numbers from site contractors.
i will be manufacturing a product similar to the silt sock brand ( woodchip flex pipe, hose,).
that replaces the silt fence typically used in the past.
i have some ballpark prices that you roughly pay to buy rolls all ready to go as in like 8",12",18" but would like to get real actual prices you,ve paid just to purchase.
part 2 for me is the install labor , seems to go by the foot! im planning on both methods
1 is the install of the already made rolls
#2 gonna fill the roll on site and lay as we go.
best thing pending on the topography and angle, this product usually does not need any soil dug or trenching, simply lay down and stake if required.
there is different fabrics also , one is bio-degrade , lay it and forget it !!!!!
other can be a long last fabric if you ( or us ) want to pickit up and reuse it!!!!!
i might consider the whole job as we do everything you dont touch anything!!!!!
i have already the equipment just need do slight mods to existing hoppers, augers, blowers , and i have enough product to do well over 100,000 feet of 8" pipe . so initial cost is not very high.
im 95% positive i can be very competitive but dont want to give it away either.
this is a start up business for my son to take the reins on, and with my drainage experience to wont take long for him to do his own hiring for installs.
i,am planning on staying in the yard and keep my top soil operation in full swing with some time spent preparing the material for the pipe so he can spend 100% time on installs!!!
