John Deere 2840 3 Point Question

Hello!

We have a 78-79' 2840. Recently the 3 Point only goes up and won't go down. We have tried everything to get it to move and now we are trying to take the housing off under the seat. Does anyone know how that comes apart? We have unbolted all the bolts but don't want to break anything. Thanks in advance.

D4 lift cylinder mount

Have the rod out of one cylinder so just the tube is mounted to the tractor. Noticed during disassembly there is a good bit of play where the cylinder mounts to the round crossmember/yoke (whatever it is called) that passes behind the radiator. How difficult a job is it to renew whatever is in there? Cannot see how the thing comes apart so help is needed there too. '67 D4/D4D 78A7171
