quick question on early 60s 188D case backhoe head gasket

I have an older 188D case backhoe that i believe needs a head gasket.. After reading forum i see i could be in for a major repair.. My question is when running i get a slight sucking sound in exhaust and engine oil in radiator . Not a lot of oil but have to leave radiator cap loose to let out pressure from engine. No coolant in oil.. Does this sound like a blown head gasket. The tractor starts and runs fine . I have never use either on it and have owned it for 4 years. any info would be greatly appreciated. :)

299D XHP or T870 I cant decide

Hello fellow operators!! I'm in a bit of a patch right now. I can't decide between a Bobcat T870 or a 299D XHP. We currently run M series Bobcats in our op, so bringing in an 870 is nothing new and everything familiar. That's a huge plus. There was a dealership change in our area recently...and well that's a huge minus.

Enter the Big Cat. I've yet to demo one. Talked to the salesguy almost two weeks ago to arrange...and have not heard from him since. So, service about on par with Bobcat. What I know about the machine I have only compared on paper to the 870, and the biggest differences I can come up with are these:

The 299 weighs a little less than the 870.
Steel undercarriage option, big plus over the 870.
The 299 has Higher hydraulic flow than the 870 +4 gpm difference.
The 299 has a back up camera.

The biggest difference: the price. I was quoted $155K for the 299D xhp with land management package + steel undercarriage and the 415 cutting head. About $45K higher than the 870 Forestry with Fecon mulcher (but no steel undercarriage, get with it Bobcat).

When that comes out on paper, it is obviously a substantial difference. I'm basically picking between the lesser of two evils as neither dealership has a service advantage to flock to. Already having Bobcats in the stable, I know what to expect. Not being able to test the 299 before writing that kind of check is fairly difficult to justify the difference when the two are so close on paper. :beatsme

takeuchi ts70r parts manual/ glass kit

Hello all
I'm looking at buying a TS70R for my garden center but it does not have glass or heater in it, the dealer and tak is telling me I have to buy a compete cab because there designed different then the glass model. I feel this is a lie when I put both models side by side the encloses are the same, I found a older manual showing the glass as a add on kit I was hoping there is the same for the new ones

cat 311b overheating

My excavator runs really great. However, if I really push it hard for a few hours, it starts to run hot. Raising the hood helps, but still it will run hot, even in the winter if I push it. Once I idle back and let it set, it cools off pretty quickly, but also heats back up pretty quickly.

If it is hot summer, it seems to run hot pretty quickly even when I am not pushing it hard.

It is only the water temp that gets high....the hydraulic oil temp stays ok.

The Air Conditioner is no longer connected, but there is a small radiator in front of the main radiator. I 'think' this is a radiator for the AC. If so, it would only seem to be serving no purpose now and is blocking the a considerable amount of air flow to/through the primary radiator. Any thoughts as to if it might help to remove this radiator?
I've did a half way job of washing out the radiator with a water hose, but that did not seem to help.
Should I remove the radiator and have it 'boiled' out?

I just bought a 05 cat 420d 4x4 with 2500hours on the clock. Seems like a good machine.
Is there anything I should look out for on this tractor ?

daewoo solar 220lc-iii

hello everyone, just picked up a daewoo solar 220-iii think its a 1995 but not sure. serial number is 0851.. replaced the fuses under the seat and got the lcd display working but the upper right warning light is on. has an R and arrow? any clue what this means? rpm isnt working on lcd but spoardically shows up for a second then nothing. what kind of pressure should the dispaly read on the front and rear pumps?
