I have a 1991 Scat Track skid steer with a perkins 4236 engine. I need to replace the water temp sending unit which is a single wire unit screwed into the radiator water return.
The problem is getting parts. The parts guy that I am working with wants the build number off the engine which is supposed to be right by the fuel injector pump or on the opposite side of the engine near the flywheel. I have looked everywhere on the engine block (difficult cause of the machine design) and can't find a build number. I pulled the sender and took it to NAPA and they said they don't handle that kind of part. The part is
Does anyone have info that would be helpful for me? Like where to look for the number on this unit, a good parts/service guy in the USA pacific northwest, or sources for parts for the SCAT track (bought out by Volvo).
Any info would be appreciated.
