Acquired parts Case 580b

I saved this 73 backhoe from the crusher and like most things I like the idea of having parts if needed. The engine had been removed But I did get the bare block not sure if it was gas or diesel. The tranny is differant from mine. it appears to be a standard with a high low selector and forward reverse lever odd. I was hoping that is was a power shuttle like mine. My shuttle works great as of now. The backhoe itself has foot swings as opposed to my 4 stick control. Front loader bucket in good shape. I do however see what everyone was talking about the loader being welded this one has had several reinforcement plates added with numerous welds all along the loader. the hour meter shows a little over 6000hrs and I believe it to be correct due to the cable being complete and the boss in the block okay.



So Can this standard transmission be easily converted to replace my power shuttle if ever needed? Is the standard a more reliable and stronger unit?



It has a new starter although I understand it won't be sealed. and a new muffler.
