Sorry for the long winded story, but here it is. Have a 2001 cat 246 skid loader. Little over a year ago I went to start it one day and it would start the shut off when the key returned to on. So I checked fluids and found the hydraulic fluid level low. I put fluid in it and then it started and worked fine, I pulled it in shop to see where all the fluid went and found the left drive motor had a crack in the housinneeded a skid steer and ending up demoing a 246c and eventually bought it. So here I am a year later, and I finally put a drive motor in it. So now the skid loader is doing the same thing, it starts and shut off when key goes back to on. I have tested the relay and fuse for fuel shut off seleniod, all seems correct. So I sent ahead and put voltage to the hold side of selenoid and the machine stays running, but I have no hydraulics, drive, boom or aux. All I did was change the drive motor and now I can't figure this thing out. The machine has 1250 original hours and I HD no problems till the drive motor got a crack in it. Does this cat 246 have a safety that won't let it run if there is no hydraulic pressure? Also, do you have to billed the system after its totally dry. Thanks in advance for any help. I'm at a dead end.
