Just bought a 69 ford 4500. Picked it up late at night and of course after a 4 hour ride there I was ready to get back on the road..........
First issue I run into when I get home is that the transmission wont go into reverse, trans is what i think is the 8 speed version with 2 levers. I popped the cover off and used a pry bar to reach in and slide the syncros till i found reverse. My issue lies in this, the shifter appears to short to fit into the shift fork rods and im not understanding how the 3 rods actually select the syncros, can someone educate me and maybe post a couple pictures of what should be in there?
I will grab some pictures in the morning as well so maybe someone will be able to recognize whats missing.
Second problem is the tilt cylinders on the front loader are bent, whats my cheapest fix here? Used cylinders or replacement shafts?
