Anyone rebuilt the rear end on a non steer rear end with a diff lock on a 416D backhoe. Everything has been pretty cake till you have to preload the differential bearing in the left side axel housing. Tooling from Cat is a rack and comes out of California not worth one diff rebuild. Was wondering if any other hands have done it without the tooling. I have both SIS web printouts of Specifications and D&A of rear end and both give two different descriptions of how measurement is made. Any help guys?? I have all the different shims from parts print out.
