Hi all, I'm after some help. I have a mid to late eighties Airman AX40 that has a problem with slewing. When slewing it grinds and jumps and if slewing slowly it will get stuck in places. When it gets stuck I need to slew back the other way and build momentum to get past the sticking point. I was convinced that I had broken some teeth from either the main gear or pinion gear. I have separated the and to my surprise both the main gear and pinion gear are intact and in very good condition with very little wear. My next check was on the main bearing, this time expecting to find a damaged race or ball bearings, but again no damage. I'm now unsure on what to check next and would be very greatfull on any suggestions. I cant feel any play in the pinion gear when I try to move it back and forth. Thanks.:(
