Needed / Wanted a lifting eye on the new Hoe ... so .... Today I burned one out of 3/4" T1. 2" x 3" oval hole ... 4-1/2" long on weld end. Chamfered the weld edge with the torch & ground it up nice.
Ground the paint off of the "H Link" .. pre-heated the H & the eye a little with the torch ... then welded it on with 1/8" 7018. Air chiseled / peened the bead off immediately after each rod ... Let it cool & added a little paint.
Is it gonna break off .. or worse .. break my H Link ?
