Hello, this is my first post.
I have a Ditch Witch 1025Sk backhoe with a Deutz F2L511. There is a pin than sticks out of the injector pump normally. It is pushed in with an "extra fuel solenoid" during starting. (sort of like a choke system). Normally when engine revs up, the pin pushes back out and engine runs lean. If it does not release, the engine blows black smoke and will only run 3 minutes before fuel starving. This is repeatable. I thought I may have a fuel delivery issue and have done the following:
Made sure "extra fuel solenoid" is not pushing on pin. -it's not.
Checked fuel lines to tank to see if the are clear. (gravity feed line and return line from injectors).-both ok.
Replaced fuel filter and checked water separator.-both allow fuel to flow freely.
Replaced lift pump. -new pump works fine, old one was leaking but may of been ok.
Bled air from lines to injectors.
The injector pin had "stuck" in before but always released. I hope someone knows how this pump operates and if there is anything to fix it. New pumps are very pricey and I do not want to replace a good pump. Also if there is any technical information on troubleshooting these pumps please let me know. It is a Bosch pump but I do not have a number for it.
