Hello all, new to the site been on the outside looking in and it looks like there are some very knowledgeable members. hopefully you guys can give me a second opinion on a blocker valve issue i am having with my old hoe. Background story is: owned the hoe for a couple years used weekly. went to plow out the driveway had machine inside and block heated ran machine for awhile to warm up got in and would not go into reverse but forward had full function. So i removed the steering tower and blocker valve and sure enough the upper valve on the reverse side was stuck in the block, removed the lower pins to find slight wear. only parts i can get for that valve assy. is springs and pins through my New Holland dealer. my theory is that the valves are getting worn and binding in the block not allowing the pins to raise like they are supposed to upon startup or idling. So i have two ideas #1 put it back together less the lower actuating pins that way this silly problem can never haunt me again. #2 lightly chamfer the valves on the top side with emery cloth that way there is not such a sharp edge to catch in the block. This machine is my only way to plow out and get to town i need it reliable and this safety seams like a stupid reason for me to not be able to run the machine.
