Ford 5500 TLB torque converter

I have a 1969 Ford 5500 tlb. I have removed the engine to get rebuild. I would like to change the tranny input seal while the engine is out but the torque converter will not come out. It wiggles but will not come out. I even tried a slide hammer. I just don't want to damage anything. Any ideas??
