Noticed today my Case 1840 was leaking oil and after investigation, the source is from the right side of the pump, from a bolt that has a hole in it. There is a similiar bolt on the other side. I have a hunch that those are bypass valves that can be used if the machine is being towed. Can someone confirm this?
Should I just tighten it? Or is there a O-ring that might have broken down? What happens if I open it, do I need to drain the hydraulic fluid first? View attachment 171328
