Part time work for Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician

When I look at Job postings I only find full time positions avaliable, is that because part time work is usually not possible (unable to hand off a project to someone else during the week) or is it because no one wants a part time position?

How likely would an employer higher somone as an apprentice part time?

Would a journeyman be more or less likely to land a part time position?

To be clear, by part time I mean 3 or less days a week. These days could be rotating throughout the week....
