I have a 1988 John Deere 644E wheel loader that has developed a transmission problem. When the machine is shifted from either forward to reverse or vice versa, it takes up to 3 seconds for the transmission to engage. Also, when it is traveling, and is shifted from 1st to 2nd, it takes up to 7 seconds to change gears. This problem came on very quickly (within about 50 hours).
