Hitachi EX 150 Excavator

We are considering purchasing an old 1990 EX 150 Excavator, mostly for work on our rural property & have been told that they are a first cousin of the Deere. Would anyone be able to verify this for us? What we wanted to know more specifically is what size in Deere would be the equivalent & if buckets or any other parts would be interchangeable? We will be looking at getting couple of buckets & knowing what may be interchangeable will be most helpful. Also, are there any other models in the Hitachi lineup where the buckets may fit the EX 150?
