i did a job last November in a super super drought dusty environment. if anyone remember 2016 november drought in southeast?
anyways....on that job..i had a main hose bust underneath the floorboard. a big fat hose.
i replaced the hose with a new one from Napa.
I made sure to check that the hose had no debris or obstruction.

Hello gentlemen I am wondering if any of you have any thoughts on how to set the pressure on the regulators on a 4300c linkbelt I am getting an engine bog issue when I pull in the dipper in. I have good fuel pressure new filters and no junk in the fitting at lift pump. I have 4000 psi at both pumps ,dipper will relieve at 4500 psi on in and out . My pilot is 580psi. How is best way to tell if pump is at full swash,and are the regulators something to consider. Kinda a grey area for me....

My JD 310 A had a pump failure which seized it up. I replaced the pump with a used one I found, but the system was open while I repaired the crank and replaced the pulley. How can I clean the lines to make sure there is no water, rust or other material in the lines. I do not want to replace another pump.

While moving a light load of dirt, heard a snap/clank, then nothing. No hydraulics to lift/tilt or drive functions. Engine runs, just no hydraulics. It's dead in the field. I'm guessing the gear-pump failed, but only a guess based on reading. Any way to check other then pulling the pump? Any advice on pulling the pump, do I need to drain the hydraulic tank or can I attempt to bag / plug the inlet line to stop flow while replacing the pump? I have a Case 40XT and a Prime Attachments Rock and Root Grapple bucket and have been clearing years of overgrown honeysuckle, dead trees, and brush from our 5 acre property. The grapple is amazing and I love it but I'm looking for advice on what skid steer attachment would work best for clearing up the 20+ years of limbs, sticks, and things that are all over the ground.

I rented a tractor with a landscape rake that worked amazing but it was really difficult to navigate around the trees...

Just curious about if anyone's operating in confined spaces like myself. I rebuild back alleys and often are not even 14' wide. And then having to be to grade within 10mm. Makes interesting days sometime. I just finished rebuilding a turning lane with a swath 30m long and only 12 feet wide and a raised catch basin in the centre.

I have a old dump truck that has had lots of parts swapped before i brought it.

Pretty sure it has older rockwell axles 70-80 year ish 2 axles in a 1970 dump truck.
The front Axle has a power divider on the upper right side. passenger side has one line running to it and small round brake can almost looking part on it. That has rubber on inside that fills with air and pushes on flat metal plate attached to a rod going inside the rear. only part number i could find (234433).

Supposedly crapped out and took a small trip down driveway into tree and fence. Here it sits. Supposedly fired up and ran a minute then quit again. Does crank, won't turn over. I'm in need of replacing the starter on my Dozer. It's a 1991 dresser TD8G with cummins 4bt. Was wondering if a starter for a 6bt would fit. There's so many part #'s when I google it gets confusing. I know it's 12v 10tooth

I was left holding my shifter in my hand after it failed at the pin hole. I was able to nurse it into neutral (I think), and tried to pull the top plate to weld the rod back up.
With the bolts removed, I am able to lift the rear edge of the plate about 1/2", but the front portion will not budge. Am I not in neutral? If not, how do I get there with a broken shifter?

I'm curious, has the law been changed that we no longer need flags on oversized loads? This past week I saw 3 separate oversized loads with no flags on them. Two of them only had the signs on the front and back and the third had signs and strobes but no flags. Maybe it was just a coincidence but 2 of the three looked like 'professional' type haulers which made me wonder if the laws had changed and I hadn't heard about it yet.

I can fit 30" pads but will only have 1 inch of clearance between inside of pads and tractor frame. Does anyone have experience with this. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Ended up selling my old 74 case 350 crawler loader for this gem. Didnt quite get a super awesome deal, but there was just enough meat on the bone to seal the deal. (12k)

Engine runs, everything works except the high speed track option, it needs a new track, and the engine puffs and misses a little at high rpm-no load; but clears up when actually doing work.

Did I mention the pilot valves are leaking? oh what fun.

Turns out it does have a VE pump, please dont scare me <3...

Hey, I'm on the hunt for Vermeer T455 UC parts. At this point, I'm coming up short on the idlers, sprockets, and track adjusters. I can't for the life of me find any supplier of them. Even Vermeer is telling me it would be a 145 to 165 day wait. how is that possible. Who supplied these parts for Vermeer. I've talked to Berco, ITR, Valuepart, Intertrack, etc. and no one has an answer on this. Someone, somewhere, has to carry this stuff. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Question on JD490E PVC code reading

The JD 1504 technical manual says without a jumper in the computer code reader connector there should be a steady one second on and one second off PVC LED output. It also says if no fault code exists or trouble is beyond the scope of the self diagnostic function, with the jumper installed, there will be no flashing of the LED. My PVC flashes a steady one second code with or without the jumper installed. Does this mean the PVC has failed? The input of someone with knowledgeable experience...

I can see the value of adding a thumb to the 324, but don't know how the genuine Bobcat thumb is attached to the dipper.

Would anyone have any pictures and specifics of their thumb, or at least tell me how they are attached?

Obviously I could just weld something on, but I try to keep everything as close as the original manufacturer's designs and intent where I can.

Jms670 hey hef. I got another fix this problem that don't act up when your around. Boom won't go down. Intermittently...... Some times 6 hours sometimes 1 some times shutting it off helps sometimes. Sometimes it comes back on it's own. Rain does not effect. Doesn't seem to be bouncing or vibration related. No codes. current to both up and down solenoids is identical. Just bought a used 299d XHP with 1900 hrs. has code for LH speed sensor #1, and LH #2 frequency or pulse. At Idle RH reads 0-RPM, LH reads like 16900 RPM. I pulled the sensor and it looks good, one very small nick on the edge. All wires look good.

Second problem which may be related.. Charging system has new battery, Had alternator checked-it's good. Battery reads 12.9 volts and passes a draw test. At idle the machine will increase RPM to adjust for battery voltage and charge at 15...

Hi all,

We are expecting a problem with a wheel loader CAT 962G (3BS). The truck after working for two or three hours has problems with the activation of the hydraulic functions. Raise and lower of bucket is done with difficulties, you have to move several times the lever to take one operation. Same thing is expexted also with the tilt function of the bucket.
These problems are shown when the truck is hot, if you cool it down for 1 hour it will work without problems for the next 2-3 hours...

I have a 1989 Case 480E LL 4-390 non turbo unit. I have been looking for the lift pump J904374 but have only seen the superseded number 84142216 which has the ports in a different configuration. Does anyone know where I can find a direct replacement pump with the port configuration the same. The new unit will bolt on the same but the two ports on top are different than the existing one.

My chipper will start and immediatly stall and I am not sure why I bought it this way. I have changed fuel filter and electric fuel pump. I have good fuel flow to the pump inlet and also out the top of the pump to return. I have also removed the shut off plunger. Any other suggestions before having pump rebuilt?

So, I tried searching the forums first as I am sure this has been discussed before, but I had little luck. I am looking for people's feelings on different types of socket organizers. I have some metal cases, some clip rails, and some come from craftsman plastic holders. My clip rails are a mix or craftsman and harbor freight and the metal cases are old Harbor freight (the sockets not longer come in these) and the famous old green S&K. The harbor freight rails don't even hold shallow 1/4"...

My old Allis has a T0448 p/n 408270-3, been scouring any and all sites with similar setups for Allis and close is all I get but nothing defined or cross reference confirmable. Can get a decent priced NEW from Steiner parts is a T04B80 but have no clue if too little or too much boost or lag.

If the transverse spring a D4D has under the engine and setting on both track frames is the same setup as what he was asking about, how bad is it that the spring ends are worn to a thin edge? Shims have been inserted to make up for the lost thickness. Standing behind the machine the tracks seem to toe in slightly at the front. Could be the result of the tracks being beyond worn out......

Hello all < i am new to this forum > I have a jd 450 straight and i am slowly repairing all that is wrong with it. It staerts and runs great, did a new injector pump, all hoses, seats etc, starter, alternator and all wireng harnesses.
Now my biggest job yet front cross bar. The bushing holes are gone and it was welded several times which is now broke.

I was using my 120 today for maybe 15-20 minutes, when suddenly it decided that it didn't want to move very quickly. Unless I was using a another movement; such as boom up/down bucket curl, rotating, etc. It doesn't matter what travel mode is selected. It seems I run into more and more of these to be removed as the "8" series Toyota lift trucks get
some age on them. Radiators and hoses are becoming a daily repair. I make do with pliers and channel locks but something made for the task would be beneficial.

Hello all I have a green Bd2g that I've aquired. I plan to restore it to full operation. Mechanically it appears to be in excellant shape. However it's missing the blade. The original application appears to be a manual blade. I'm searching for a replacement and may have a blade that I can fab to work. I need a key for the ignition. I've purchased 2 and they both fit but won't turn ignition. I also need to repack the cylinders so any help on where to find the seals will be helpfull also.

Looking for a guestamate on the time to replace a complete bottom. Only thing being re used is the pads. New rails,sprockets,idlers, top and bottom rollers and slack adjuster seals. Case 580N Instrument panel light not in manual

I have a 2015 Case 580n. When I start it the alarm sounds and a warning light comes on that looks similar to the Air filter restriction symbol, followed by the Stop warning light.

The symbol looks very similar to the air filter symbol, except the arrow is coming from the left side and has a wedge underneath it. I tried looking for it both in the manual and online with no help.
Any one here know what it is?

S150 Overheating?

After 30 mins of light use temperature light comes on and shuts machine off. Gauge is only half way not in the red. Rad is clean and coolant level is good. If i let it sit to cool down it will fire right up and run until it shuts down again. Machine has about 1500 hrs. Any ideas what to look at?

I have a few questions about my 530 CK I just recently purchased. I am new to having one so this could just be a error i'm causing.

1, how do I tell if I have a dry clutch or the other one?
2, If not a dry clutch, where do I add the oil on it fr the clutch system?
3, What oil to use?
4, When I first start it up it runs just fine and shifts just fine, When it warms up and I step on the clutch it starts to vibrate really bad and has a hard time going into gear. Any idea on what this might be?

So i got the fuel issue all taken care of and now its time to tackle my coolant leak in my Hyundai R130LC3 with Cummins 4bta3.9. I dont see signs of coolant in the oil and to be honest with the amount of coolant ive added, it should be overflowing. I also ran the exhaust gas leak in the radiator and found no signs of leakage there. Not sure if this is scientific but i exhaled into the test fluid and it changed colors. I also dont see any noticeable white smoke but i do have a sweet smell...

I have a problem with hydraulic cylinder. Truck is new to me. it worked fine if i didn't go all the way up. Telescopic style. Top stage wont retract. i have tried draining the fuild and it still didn't come down.

Blew a hyd line today.
Hose was almost certainly an original on a '96 D6H. Both tilt hoses had the code 6I8101G5 tagged on them.

My question: Why is it when I called several large hydraulics houses, they couldn't cross that code number. In fact, they had never heard of that code. My PC210-8 was working great all of a sudden it became slow in B mode. The boom, one track and the arm curl was very slow. Recently snagged a D31A-17 at a local auction. Sadly I got it home and was only able to push over a few stumps before the transmission lost all movement forward and reverse. Thanks to the guys here I was able to see the problem was most likely the strainer plugged so I dumped the fluid and removed strainer and it was just absolutely full of metal. D6D Track Frame Alignment

I bought a D6D dozer six months ago. I thought I had inspected it fairly well before I bought it, but it seems like the longer I own it, the more things I find that I overlooked.

The other day I noticed the track frame alignment is off in the rear. The sprockets on both sides are sitting to the inside of the rails. Clearance between the sprocket and the rail was only like 1/8" on the inside and it appears that at times they are rubbing.

580k for sale, no brakes

Local town has a 2wd extend a hoe 580K for bid at 3500 hours. Has a cab too, doesn't look really beat on. The mayor said it needs brakes, but a city employee told me he thinks it just a brake line. I have an old Fiat 70CI dozer. As built by Fiat, the rear of the body of the machine is attached to the tracks via a couple of bushes and the front of the body is supported by a leaf spring that rests on either track frame and is bolted to the sump.

I have a Case 9010 and it has burnt one starter, the solenoid that controls the boom functions, the throttle switch, but you can still switch back to manual throttle and make it work. I went back to it the other day and the batteries were now dead but not totally. I am horrible with electrical issues and I need some advice.

As much as I hate the idea....we don't have an option for a few of our rigs. Of all the people in trucking or who run them and have to use Electronic Logging Devices which system do you use? Pros? Cons? I've been delegated the task of determining who has to use them and what system to use. There are a lot of options and like anything some are junk, some are fair and there's most likely one that's perfect for our operation.

Just recently got this excavator. Worked fine then stopped swing and travelling left track without warning.
Fluid level is good. It makes no attempt to swing or travel left track. No change in motor while trying to swing or travel. Right track travels fine, main boom operates fine,
dipper not fully operational.

Im working on a E200 with a DT414 and Clark 4 speed. Ive owned it 2 years for farm use and it operates great for its age with some minor leaks here and there. In the process of adding a new transmission oil temp gauge I noticed a leak from the pressure regulating valve which mounts on the back of the hydraulic pressure pump. (see pics and parts list) I have lots of minor leaks of course, but on start up its putting out a pretty steady flow of oil that I didn't see under the machine before....

My quick attach is loose with all my attachments, but I can't figure out what is worn out. I'd say there is 1/2" to 3/4" (depending on the attachment) of play between the pin and the rectangular hole in the attachment, when engaged. With all the slop I am mangling the pins and the rectangular holes in the attachment. I couldn't even open the quick attach the other night until I did a bunch of filing on the pin (in the dark - fun) because the pins wouldn't retract due to all the dimples...

This week I bought a Deere 450C Track Loader. It has a 4 in 1 bucket. Unit is clean and in good shape. Our company is looking at replacing their fleet of haul trucks.
We have six Volvo A40F's, probably from around 2010-12.
We have regen, dropbox, axle and electrical problems that plague production.

Is there any alternative to the Cat HYDO oil for hydraulic system ? I saw some Traveller brand "Premium" Trans Hydraulic Fluid at Tractor Supply but it only lists Cat T0-2 designation which is an older one, so I'm afraid to buy it. Is there any aftermarket oil that matches the HYDO spec, Cat Hydo is $ 150 for 5 gallons at the Cat dealer and I need 4 pails. !

Engine runs, everything works except the high speed track option, it needs a new track, and the engine puffs and misses a little at high rpm-no load; but clears up when actually doing work.

Did I mention the pilot valves are leaking? oh what fun.

Does anyone have any insight on how to adjust the brushes properly on a Deere BP72 skid steer sweeper? It seems as though one side is hanging lower than the other and is causing an inconsistent sweep. The brush looks to be evenly worn so it must be an issue with the adjustment. I'm not familiar with adjusting these, or using them in general. What should I be looking for? What would you recommend as an optimal operating setup etc.

ok, my left tilt cylinder just started squeaking like crazy, very loud high pitch squeak, when I have it at about half to full tilt started out of the blue, worked fine, was parked for about 6-7 weeks, and then started squeaking? a buddy told me to just add some of this CAT's Anti-Chatter hydraulic oil additive, but I think my system has just 30 weight oil in it, so NOT sure if that would mix right or not> anyone know if I can add this or?? something else to stop the squeak?

I have a older case 580b ck forklift and the steering gradually was going out, so I changed the hand valve the the steering wheel mounts on and the PS pump-also took apart the steering control valve (which looked ok) But steering will not operate with the the wheels on the groung-but if i jack up up the axle and take off the weights=it will work fine.

What I do know is when you stretch the arm all the way out it does have a very very slow drift. My problem is when you stretch the arm all the way out and full stroke the joy stick all the way back, it goes about 1/4 of the way and the hydraulics seem to load up like its fighting something, you can even hear it in the engine a little.

I am in the process of looking at new 20 ton tag trailers. I currently have an Eager Beaver 20 ton that I'm going to sell or trade in and I'm fairly certain I won't be getting another Eager Beaver. I've got a 1979 Ford F700 & a 9 ton equipment trailer. I plan on hauling my D4-7U on this setup (dozer is about 8 ton). The trailer sitting level has the lunette eye at about 24" ground to center, unloaded. What height should the pintle be mounted at? I just don't want to drill a bunch of holes close to each other, because I messed up. Thanks.

I have a 1989 1500Z Trojan Loader that that has a Dana/Spicer (Clark-Hurth) 3 Speed Powershift transmission and the transmission is being overfilled with hydraulic fluid. The overfill is about 4" above the full mark on the dip stick and then hydraulic fluid starts running out the bottom of the flywheel housing. Hydraulics work fine until the hydraulic tank runs low.

Hello everyone,
So we're working on a d9h that had a steering clutch non release issue. What had happened was the outer hub walked loose and the nut and the lock bold ended up in the basket. When the clutch was applied it caused the clutch to smash and jam.
The last owner pulled the outer shaft and fixed and pressed a new hub on. They changed the piston seals but didn't do the swivel seals behind the hub.

When we got to the machine we tested it and found the swive seals were gone. We...

When I was young I ran one some & often wondered in later years how much they weighed? Most of them were powered with the 4-71 Detroit, although I did occasionally see them with a Cummins too. I looked at a Kubota SVL 75-2 this morning to replace the Case 450 I have been running. The kubota is new and I'm wondering about using the attachments I have with it. The Case used 10w-30, I figure the Kubota has the Super UTD fluid. I plan on just draining the hoses and cylinders on all the attachments before hooking them up to the Kubota then changing the oil at 50 hrs. Am I crazy or does anybody even worry about this stuff? I bet my tree shear alone holds 1-1.5 gallons of oil I have 6-7...

Jump Starting Equipment

This probably doesn't fit here but not sure where else to ask. I used my 100 hp Kubota tractor to jump a Case skid Steer off a few weeks ago. The skid started and the tractor stayed running everything seemed normal. Several days later I went to use tractor and it wouldn't start. To make a long story short the shop says boosting the skid fried the Engine Side ECU on the tractor. Has anyone seen this issue on equipment? Both were 12v systems.

This case 580M seems to have a hydraulic issue. The front bucket tilts just fine at idle. The lift cylinders are slow, at idle ,raising rpm makes it better. The lift cylinders are probably 3" id and the lift bucket cylinders about 3 1/2" id. A while back it blew the large output hose from the pump to the hydraulics and nothing worked at the time. I ran my JS240 out of diesel yesterday and subsequently burnt out a very expensive solenoid trying to start the thing again.

Now my excavator won't even show any signs of life when I turn the key, apart from electronic instruments.

Is the fuel shut off solenoid part of the start up circuit ?

Is there any way I can jump the plugs with wire to operate without it?

I am having issues with the right side steering. 1st, the pedal seems really stiff. It doesn't want to return to the home position, without pulling it up by hand. Not a big deal. 2nd, when pushing the pedal all the way down, the track on the right side slows down and eventually the machine turns. I have a PC300-5 Komatsu excavator and the RPM's are jumping up and down, the governor motor is shaking and we've looked it over wiring harness and it seems to be okay...also, the power is not shutting off with the key in the OFF position. We've installed a battery switch just to shut it off. Does anyone have any ideas on where to start diagnosing the issue. I also have a PC220-6 with similar problems with governor motor.

JD 6320 Engine Troubles

This 2005 100hp Ag tractor with 3300 hrs is causing me no end of grief at the moment.
About a month ago we gave it a routine service.. engine oil and filter, fuel filters, changed the coolant.
Nothing unusual... later, we worked it for about 5 hours, where it performed flawlessly.
A couple of days later, I needed to have the rear tyres replaced, and rather than pay to have the tyre shop travel 70 miles, I loaded the tractor up and took it to town.

I have a 1989 Case 480E LL 4-390 non turbo unit. I have been looking for the lift pump J904374 but have only seen the superseded number 84142216 which has the ports in a different configuration. So i got the fuel issue all taken care of and now its time to tackle my coolant leak in my Hyundai R130LC3 with Cummins 4bta3.9. I dont see signs of coolant in the oil and to be honest with the amount of coolant ive added, it should be overflowing. I also ran the exhaust gas leak in the radiator and found no signs of leakage there. Not sure if this is scientific but i exhaled into the test fluid and it changed colors. I also dont see any noticeable white smoke but i do have a sweet smell...

Tires... Single instead of Dual...Hwy Floatations

I've got a blow out while sitting ...( It blew the wet ground away )
These are the tires that were on it when I bought the truck.

I'm wondering about finding "Floatation Tires"
I've driven a few Dump Trucks set up with them... But it was three axle...
Would anything surprise me about doing it to a Single Axle ?
I haul about 6 yds... Or Tow a Tag trailer and 580 Case.

I'm not having much luck finding the type I want...
But I have them in a picture...

John Deere 510d Brakes

I have a John Deere 510d backhoe on which the brakes have quit working. It appears that no hydraulic fluid is getting to the brake valve, as I took the two lines that supply fluid to the brake valve from the transmission loose and they did not have any fluid in them. All the other hydraulics work fine.

Any ideas regarding what may be causing this?

Help Please with computer on link belt 3400 Q

I bought a 3400 q a few months ago that had been sitting for several years. it was parked because the stick was badly broken and supposedly no other issues. The computer was replaced not long before when someone used a welder to jump start it, killing the computer. Now i can get no response out of the computer. its getting power at the 24v supply and from the key switch but nothing out except for two ~5v signals i haven't traced on the schematic.
I can give the monitor 10v and it will come...

"67, D4D, 78A7177, direct drive. Guess it was bound to happen, It has been just sitting there since spring but for a couple hours of use two weeks ago. There is now a small but growing spot of oil on the inner track below the left hand rear drive sprocket. The shop manual I have does not indicate what is involved in replacing a final drive outer seal(s). How big a deal is this?

Flags on oversized loads

I'm curious, has the law been changed that we no longer need flags on oversized loads? This past week I saw 3 separate oversized loads with no flags on them. Two of them only had the signs on the front and back and the third had signs and strobes but no flags. Maybe it was just a coincidence but 2 of the three looked like 'professional' type haulers which made me wonder if the laws had changed and I hadn't heard about it yet.

I saw a truck pulling a grain trailer parked geting a tire repaired that was very unsafe today and i am thinking about calling the Dot. The driver-owner lost a hub and tires one time and killed one person and hurt several others. The trailer has cracks in its rear frame and no working brakes. I didnt look at the truck. I talked to the tire guys and they will not touch it agin. I dont know this guy but after killing some one i figured he no longer was trucking.
