Cat 312 won't idle down

Hello. I have a 312 Ser.# 6bl00625 that is giving me troubles. I replaced the governor unit with cable ( factory part ) and everything worked great for the first day. Now the machine starts up full throttle and won't idle down no matter what I do. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks!!
