Hello gentlemen. I believe I've made some headway on my excavator. Upon pressure testing I have found that I had no unloader pressure (which would be my set pressure.) I believe that is why it would not let my swing brake release. This set pressure from my unloader valve had a line going directly to my left and right swing spool which may be giving me my non brake release problem.

Hi all. I just bought a Case 580CK and have a bad oil leak coming from the brake cover area. I checked the rear diff oil and it is several inches above the full line. And appeared to be thinner like hydraulic fluid.

I just need to know how it got there?
Is there a seal between the transmishion and the differential that's bad and letting hydraulic fluid in to the diff?

After one loading of nearly sliding off the trailer want to add something to have more traction loading my deere 225. I've also noticed despite not loading much on the trailer yet, it seems to be reeking havoc on the beavertail. I always just drive up the beavertail, and before the tipping point I put the bucket down on the deck so I can slowly let it break over. I am wondering if I should start to avoid driving up/down it as much as possible and lift the front?

Was wondering what everyone was using for hearing protection.
In newer equipment with cabs it wouldn't take too much but on older open station machines like my D6c I struggle to find something that feels like it's doing enough to limit noise.

I have custom molded ear plugs that I use and sometimes double up with ear muffs. Or use foam plugs & ear muffs. With both it sometimes seems worse than with just the plugs because sound kind of resonates between the two.

I have an old Pettibone Extendo 88 forklift that I am working on some hydraulic issues this winter. I have rebuilt the Char-Lynn SCU unit, but have yet to be able to test it out.

When I got the machine the steering worked, but the SCU whined & growled like crazy, even if I wasn't touching the steering wheel. When I took it apart, I didn't see any internal damage, here are some pics:

Aluminium ramp width, for 3.5 ton excavator?

I'm buying some new ramps very soon, maybe even tomorrow.

My excavators rubber tracks are 300mm(12 inch) wide. My two ramp choices are:

One that's 350mm(14inch) internal. weighs 33kg(73lb)
The other 400mm(16inch) internal. weighs 38kg(84lb)

I want to get the lightest one because of my back, but do you guys think it would be annoying trying to line up the ramp narrow ramp?

Before welding them up I traced off a pattern of the ears and will be more than happy to share my pattern with anyone free of charge who might need to build a set of ears.

New Holland C238 High Flow Issue

My high flow is only one direction. Is this normal? I have a high flow brush cutter that I picked up and a Loftness mulcher. The machine runs them only in one direction. I switched the hoses around and both attachments will run in the opposite direction fine. So, the machine is only providing flow in one direction.

The issue is that I can't run the mulcher backwards to clear it and the brush cutter has bi-directional blades, so it would be nice to wear both sides of the blade.

I bought a used Takeuchi Tl130 which I've had for a few years. When you start the engine, the right track will go in reverse, but not the left. It goes forward fine and turns fine. If I let the engine warm up for ten minutes, then when I try to reverse the left track it will inch back a bit very, very, slowly hardly moving, then pop and it goes backwards fine. Hydraulic fluid obviously needs to be heated up well. After that, the machine runs fine. Anyone know what's going on?

The center pivot on my UH083 has given up. At first I figured just seals would fix the leak. After getting the whole assembly out of the machine and taking it apart on the bench it looks like I need the spindle. The housing looks good but the spindle is galled.
According to the manual, the part #1005892 is what I need but it's NLA. I suppose I could send it out to be built up and turned but would rather get a replacement part.

Do any of you guys have a source for a 1005892 spindle?

Machine starts and runs great. As long as it's in warm-up mode, once switched over to run it dies after initial pressure builds up. If a valve is open when switched to run it will run great, if you reach over and SLOWLY shut the valve it will stay running, however if you reach over and just close the valve it will die.

The ssam light blinks 3 times for engine oil pressure, but I suspect that has nothing to do with it dying, just that it is a result...

I recently picked up a EX120 and it has a manual thumb installed. I noticed when we looked at it that the teeth of the thumb did not align very well with the bucket. We also knew that the bucket pin had a bit of wear, so I assumed that was why. Once I received the machine and upon closer inspection, I realized that one side of the thumb plate down near the pin has a bow in it, therefore the thumb pin does not sit square and flush on the stick. I've got a Schaeff SKL833 that will not turn over. I turn the key and nothing happens. When it first started doing this if you wiggled the relay for the start circuit in the fuse box then it would start now it won't do anything.

We have a New Holland FX48 self-propelled forage harvester. It started overheat so we installed a new thermostat and thermostat housing. The thermostat seemed to work for a while but now it is running hot again. Thermostat is supposed to be around 80 degrees C and its running around 110C. Everything used to work and it drove around.

At some point I noticed that sometimes I have to put it in and out of Drive gear to make it go. But it was all OK.

Now it sat for like 3-4 months, I started it occasionally and the batteries were charged. However, it no longer wants to drive. If I put it in drive gear, it shakes a bit, wanting to go, moves maybe 2 inches and no further. It is as if it lost all its driving strength.

I picked up myself an Michigan 55B loader a while back and have a few questions.

Pretty sure it's an 1977 model going by the serial #

V378 Cummins.

First off everything seems to work pretty good except the transmission.

Reverse gears seem to grab better than forward gears.

All 3 speeds work both directions but 3rd is almost as if it's non existent for a minute or two when cold, it's better warm.

After one loading of nearly sliding off the trailer want to add something to have more traction loading my deere 225. I've also noticed despite not loading much on the trailer yet, it seems to be reeking havoc on the beavertail. I always just drive up the beavertail, and before the tipping point I put the bucket down on the deck so I can slowly let it break over. I have an 85XT that wont move. All 3 of the safety lights are illuminated. The 10 amp fuse and the relay checks out but the brake wont release. A few days ago I broke a line on my tree sheer and lost some fluid, not sure how much so I added a gallon of oil. Sight glass is very hard for me to see what the level is but I didn't think I lost more than that. However after about 3 hours of use the parking brake slightly engaged a few times and then just locked up and wont release. HELP Please.

I bought it 3 months ago worked great until yesterday while i was running the hoe the throttle started bogging down then when i put it in gear i have no throttle response. if i put it in neutral it bogs until i reach 1200 to 1300 rpms then the throttle is very responsive but as soon as i go below that it takes a minute before it revs up...and when i put it in gear i get nothing. wont even pull itself bogs down to around 5 to 6 thousand rpms

Need some ideas on a friends N14. Will run with a shot of ether, trouble starting hot or cold. Engine has new piston
liner packs and three new heads. Ran engine out of a bucket of fuel to omit the hoses and tanks- same problem.
This truck has been to four dealers including Cummins no success. List of parts changed related to fuel system.
Injectors, pump, solenoid, crank sensor, ecm. I'm leaning towards low voltage issues or grounds. Truck is a 96 IH.

I'm looking at a 6H to buy and the hard nose moves back and forth when you lift and lower the blade. now I did research the replacement pins and in doing so discovered there is also bearings in the bors. So i'm wondering what my chances are that i could get away with just replacing the wear parts or if i would have to do some line boring.

The other issue is the hard bar. I know for sure that the end bearings are out but not sure if its eat into the bar its self. Not sure where to look...

Went to do a little road work today. Checking fluid levels and engine oil too high. No diesel smell, coolant low, drain about two gallons of coolant out of oil sump. Sure glad I always do fluid checks first thing.

D6c Injectors

Now that I'm just about done working on my blade I can turn to a couple of other repairs......

The 3306 in my 10k D6c (pre-comb) is a little hard starting and I'm wondering if a set of injectors might be in order. I get minimal blow-by from the oil filler tube so I don't think I have terrible compression loss and it doesn't use much oil.

I am not a crane operator, but we use wheel loaders for lifting anything that needs lifting and do use a soft sling occasionally, but mostly chains.

There was an accident in Adelaide yesterday, where a steel beam slipped from a soft sling, killing one worker and injuring another.

I recently got a very good deal on a fully working ~1982 Hitachi UH07-5LC (aka UH082) - a 200 size machine - with a hydraulic thumb and 7ft clean out bucket for clearing 12 acres for pastures and a homesite (basement and trenching), and doing other farm things (have 160 acres with gravel pit) at least as long as I can keep it running.

Now I need to find a digging bucket in the 24" - 36" range because things like the septic perc holes and electrical ditches need to be within that size...

Hi Guys, I purchased a 07' ZX350LC-3. The machine had a ISUZU 6HK1 that went bad. The complete engine was taken out then scraped before I purchased it. I have been looking for a complete takeout to put back in. Hard to find the correct engine and 3x the price of a truck engine. 973C oil pump.

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me with oil pump on a 973C with a 3306 cat engine oil pump seems to have two pumps assemble together on my I'll pump back section of that I'll pump has a suction pipe that sucks oil when the engine is going down a steep grade forward but the exhaust side of the oil pump is dumping right into the oil pan.

JLG 40E stuck in slow motion mode

I got my JLG 40E running great, but it now is stuck in slow motion mode again. Checked all limit switches, replaced with New batteries $$$$$.. , replaced Sevcon board, replaced speed dial on platform, had right drive motor rebuilt $$$, and all boom functions move very slowly. My drive functions do not move at all. But this strange operation happens. I am trying to find a source for a full set of decals for my hoe. I see pics on here of restored 580B's with great looking decals. Does anybody have a good source for a full set of decals. I have seen some "hood" decals, on the internet, but have not found a full set. Im trying to get everything together before I set out on painting and cleaning this thing up.

I'm a building contractor this makes my fourth boom truck, up grading every time.
