I have a grey market EX120-5 with a 4 position Kawasaki brand pattern control changer installed. Position "Y" is standard "Cat" control but the other three K,M,H are Asian standards we don't see in North America. I would like to modify it so one of the positions is "John Deere" style. Replaced a thermostat on a 22 year old Deere Tractor. This genuine Deere gasket cost me doing the job Three times.

First time, used type 3 gasket sealer, filled with Deere Cool-Gard II coolant... it leaks. Remove exhaust stack, Remove aux pipe, Remove fan guard, Drained system. Okay, maybe I didn't get the parts aligned. Clean everything, recoat, double check alignment, Put the stack, aux pipe, & guard on. Fill system with remaining Cool-Gard II ... Darn... It leaks again.

Goodmorning everyone
Where would one expect the grease to come out if the seal is blown on the track tightener?
Mine is fully compressed after loosing the track , we now have the track in place but cannot tighten the track back up because the grease is leaking out.
The leak appears to be at the front end(idler side), but it is a little hard to see .
I was thinking the seals would be at the opposite side of the assembly.

So I gambled a bit today and bought an ex100 that is missing a starter and possibly has other electrical issues. Where can I find the serial number to determine what machine age is? It has the isuzu motor. It is tagged bd1pz but looks like it is missing the first digit. Is the electrical system all 24 volt? It is also missing the batteries. Financing options for a new business?

After a business plan is made up, how difficult would it be to obtain financing on used equipment for a new business with lack of any credit/work history? I know it would be nice to rent first until you build up clientele and can have some numbers to show the lender but forestry mulchers aren't really rented out due to the beating they're prone to (at least that's what i've been told in my area). Hi there, I have been looking for a good deal on a mini ex for a while now..... and still looking. I have seen a couple of Gehl machines up for sale recently. One that has got my interest is a Gehl 503Z. Low hours, thumb and a reasonable price, but I am cautious about brand as I can find very little information (on internet) about the machines. I own a Hitachi EX330 LC-5. The problem I am having is one track, bucket curl, and boom is slow. Very slow. I checked all of the control valves visually. All look fine. Two new pumps on the machine. Still have the same results. Anyone have any ideas on what I can check? Thanks.

I have a 1990 GMC Top Kick 7000. It has Cat 3208 10.4 litre turbo V8, Allison transmission. GVWR is 28000. It has air brakes. Current trailer is electric brakes, but I'd need a different trailer anyway.
What are the limits I could legally tow, or safely tow, whichever is less. It'd be 3 miles of reasonably level 50 MPH speed limit highway between two parcels I own. I don't mind driving 20 MPH for this. I'm tempted to buy an old excavator that weighs 16 tons.

Lost two tires on my trailer today, just dropped off track hoe everything was fine, not 5 blocks away and i'm getting pulled over cop behind me and watched my 2 tires blow out from brakes not releasing. I recently got the trailer, no idea on history, but 5 tires were in rough shape, 2 of the ones that blew, so pretty sure this was not the first time brakes had an issue.

What could possibly be the issue? Only one side did it, and even getting it home after, the brake on that wheel never...

I have a Yale GLP050VXESE086 It has a Mazda LP engine. I forget what its called but there is a fuel prime solenoid that helps starting. Key off there is 9 volts. Key on it flashes to 11 or 12 volts. The solenoid works but there is not enough current going to it to energize it. What powers the solenoid?

Machine is actually a 210le with a powershift transmission but it is the same as a 310. Not long ago I had to have my intermediate plate replaced on the back of the transmission because it developed a hole from corrosion caused by chicken manure. Today I was grading with the tractor and it blew the O-ring off the transmission filter. I pulled the filter fix the O-ring and it blew again within 10 minutes. Obviously there's too much pressure building somewhere. What should I look for.

Hi, I have a dresser 175C that will no longer glmove in forward or reverse. I have done some research and feel as though I need to start by cleaning the suction filter screen. Can anyone tell me exactly where that is under the floorboard? My fluid oil is okay as well. The machine was working fine and all the sudden loss movement. As you can imagine this machine is almost 50 years old and everything is filthy. Thanks and advance

I am changing the fluids in the rear end, front end, and planetary's. The manual states to use 30w. I took out fill plugs and it smells like 30w not that strong gear oil smell. Should I follow the manual and use 30w? Basically everything in this machine calls for 30w or 10w depending on temperature in manual. Or is a gear oil like 80-90 better in this old Cat? 1963 966A. anybody know what metal the stabilizer pads on a 580se are? Mine had a crack, so I mig welded the crack after cutting a groove along the crack. The weld looks awful and without ANY sort of use, it cracked right through the middle again. My usual welds look a lot better and don’t crack after sitting outside for two days
I did not preheat or let it cool slowly.

I've started it down to -20C (-4F) as long as I have plugged in the block heater. Previous years I always added some diesel anti gel to the fuel before it got cold. This year I didn't. I have the 5 volts required in the joystick and the proportioning swith is working correctly on the 2 channels and I have the 12 volts required on the trigger (good ground to) all the way to the emu but nothing coming out of the emu. my question is... is the some kind of a multipler in the emu that variable 8 to 12 volts down...

View attachment 179265 I have a John Deere 310b with hydraulic pressure issues. I put a test gauge on both low pressure and high pressure ports. When I rev the engine to 3/4 throttle the pressure will jump to 2200psi but remains at zero on the low pressure side. If I lower the rpms to about half throttle pressure drops to zero. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just performed the second oil analysis at 331 hours on a 2016 CAT 304e2 and it came back with:

FUEL TEST INDICATES 10%. CHECK INJECTORS AND TRANSFER PUMP FOR LEAKS. RESAMPLE AFTER REPAIRS TO CHECK FOR CARRY-OVER.

The local dealer said "Take another oil sample after 25-50 hours has been put on the new oil. Then see if it goes back to green, and let us know."

Not the response I was looking for considering the machine is under warranty until next year. I plan on talking to the service...

So I wanted to ask again...has anyone run one of these new Komatsu's? Most of the talk I see is about Deere and Cat.
How would these compare? In the brochure pics, visibility looks good. And they come with an awesome standard warranty and service plan.

Hello all: I acquired a JBG 40h manlift a while back. powered by the deutz f3 l1011. It was dropped off in my yard non-running. This was my first experience with a deutz. ( I have rebuilt cat motors, cummins, and too many gas engines to list) First and foremost was the obvious lack of a radiator, thus this motor is commonly mis-nomer-ed as air cooled. My 580B can not even move!!!

I am new as backhoe owner. I just bought this for my yard project. I feel it was very weak to move up on to a hill before. I had to push the fuel padle all the way down to drive it up. Yesterday, I tried to start it, it won't move either forward or backward no matter which gear. But the loader and hoe work fine though. I am trying to fix it myself, but no idea where goes wrong. i have an kobelco sk80 with auxiliary hydraulics. We currently run a hydraulic thumb off of it hard plumbed into the factory shutoff (no quick coupler fittings). It is almost impossible to shift into 2nd gear or 4x4 on my Case 580 SE. If I get lucky and it engages, everything works fine. In the manual it tells me that if it won't go into 4x4 I have to move forward a "small distance" and try again. It is run by an old Murphy Diesel out of an old Northwest dragline. This thing is a piece of engineering genius. It has two intake and two exhaust valves for each cylinder. Full throttle only turns at 900 rpm.

John Deere 500C Transmission/Hydraulics Problems

I recently acquired a John Deere 500C that starts and runs well. All of the hydraulics are functional but they are weak. As for the transmission, 1-4 in forward will not move the machine. You can feel it shift into these gears but the machine does not attempt to move. Gears 5-8 are functional and seem like nothing is wrong with them. In reverse, 1 and 2 operate as normal but when shifted into 3-4 it bogs the machine down and stops it from moving.

Hopefully there are some 1830 owners out there who might able to answer an obscure question about some missing parts.
The PCV hose from the rocker cover to the carb is supposed to have an orifice in it. The hose from manifold to carb also has an orifice, but it is a different part # and design. Without the orifices in place the machine won't idle properly.
Neither of these are available from Case or any salvage yards I have checked with. Neither service nor parts manuals have a description...

Advice on buying a D8L

Ran 2 D8L’s yesterday that are for sale @ the same dealership, any advice what to looked for on transmission/torque converter function would be helpful or anything else. What I did notice was both shifted fine all gears forward & reverse , but 1 of them in 1st gear wide open when I give it full brake it would pulled down the rpm’s and stall out the other 1 would pull rpm’s way down almost kill the engine but would not come to a complete stop.

Hey folks.

I am completing a refurbish on my Ford 4500 tlb (motor rebuild, repair hydraulics) and am working on rebuilding the hoe bucket.

I have been interested in a small dozer, perhaps JD 350-450 size and I think I can handle most engine, geartrain and hydraulic issues but I have no experience with tracked equipment and am pretty ignorant on this issue to the point of being reluctant to consider buying one without knowing how to assess the undercarriage.

Finally saved up enough pennies to get some new rails for my 977L, thought i would post some pictures of the Pad removal process. The old pads aren't great but I still can get some life out of them.

What a job to get them off!! so far the best method I've found is to hit them with a plasma cutter then snap the heads off with a breaker bar. The bolts are all 100% seized, if anyone has any tricks to speed up the process I AM ALL EARS.

I have a 580k that turned into a nightmare shortly after buying it, was sold as jobsite ready back in Sept and to date I've put 18 hours on it, 6 of which was today. About a week after I got it in a cylinder blew out, really frustrating story short every single cylinder in the entire backhoe has been replaced, along with 90% of the entire hose system (I've put 60 gallons of hydraulic fluid in it in 18 hours to give an idea of how many times stuff blew on...

My bob tail dump is a 1979 International with a 466B (round injector pump), an Allison automatic, and a two speed rear axle. It started life as a public works park department truck and I got it with mileage around 62,000 & 8900 hours. In the 17 years owned - put on 17,000 miles: about 1000 miles per year. Best year was 1500 miles! Economy w less work lowered annual miles to around 500. Today it has 79,000 miles and 9900 hours.

Has anyone ever used a Deere 750C to pull a scraper? I have a couple 750C dozers and couple of Ashland dolly wheel scrapers.. one a 9 yard and the other a 13 yd .. always have been pulled with farm tractors . But was pondering on rigging up hydraulics on one of the 750’s so be able pull scraper or disk if needed. Anyone have an opinion?

Have a 690E that I think is stroking the pump too much.
When using two functions at once or bottoming out a cylinder it will stall if you don't catch it real quick.
The motor will not go to full throttle even pulling pump lever manually and feels likes it is under a load even at an idle.
Pulled of the pump and started the motor and it ran labor free and throttled up fine.
Put a gauge on the main system and at an idle it, all controls in neutral it should have no more than 500lbs but it is...

Today was not the best. I blew the track on my Gehl CTL 85. Was warking on frozen swell and ripped one in half and the other 1/2 way through. I was able to drag the machine up on my rollback and unload it in the shop. You guy who work on a large variety of equipment, who provides the technical info? Do your customers provide a service manual or do you have to buy it? Some companies like Eaton and Genie are very open with their manuals and you can download them from their websites for free, but they are the exception.

I'm jealous of the auto repair guys who can subscribe to a service like Alldata or Mitchell and get any info they want on any make a model of car you can imagine.

I have a case 40xt (only 950 hrs) that had a very small leak out the weep hole in the water pump which the dealer said was an indication it was going bad. Went ahead and picked up a new thermostat while i had it apart since you have to drain the whole system and remove the radiator anyhow to get to it.

It never had any issues getting hot before, even with the slow drip out the weep hole. The temperature light had never come on and I've operated for about 70-80 hours over the last 9 months...

I've rented an airplane hangar to use as a shop and am setting things up. I need to build a workbench and am not sure on which way to go. The back side will be against a wall and most likely bolted to it. One end will have a good sized vise. I've seen where I can get manufactured legs but I'm not sure what would make the best top. I have a Tree Farmer C-5 with a Can-Car 20 winch, and the cable pulls out so hard that I have to hook it to a tree and pull away to get the cable off, and then when I have a hitch on it, the cable wants to pull out when I am skidding. Took apart the hydraulic side of the final drive on my mini excavator to examine a cracking noise. The noise was likely coming from the main bearing side. Anyhow, everything went back as it came apart but the drive does not turn now - it did beforehand. Is there a priming mechanism , presumably they dont air lock? 580c wont start without starter fluid

Brand new to the forum. Have a Case 580c that I purchased a couple of years ago. I've done a lot of work to the hydraulics, replaced all the hoses and rebuilt all the cylinders. The issue with the starting has been there since I purchased the machine.
It doesn't matter if its the first start up or its been running all day. It demands a shot of the juice. It runs great once started.

The full counterweight package on it and stick out the full stick 100% of each section, the pins lock and we cannot get it to unpin to allow it to scope back in. The computer is showing that everything is okay and we haven't lost the boom. It just won't unpin the first section to start bringing it in.

Hi Guys. I recently completed this 1-16th scale model of the Russian ChTZ T-800 (T.75.01) bulldozer with Tilt-Blade and Ripper. The model is completely accurate in dimensions to the original 1:1 machine.

The 1:1 machine sits in between the D11N and D11T or just above the Komatsu D475-2 or just under the Komatsu D475-5 for a size comparison, weighs 106 tons with blade and ripper and has an 820hp engine...
