JD 244 Loader questions..

Hi All,
I've never seen the JD 244 loaders....I don't think they came to Australia.
I was wondering if the earlier 244s had a hydrostatic trans,& if so,what brand pumps & motors were used to propel the machine? I'm interested in the 80s/90s models, if they were made back that far.
