Can a boom angle sensor survive getting dunked in a pond?

I want to clean the edges of a pond with my ex55ur. Thinking that it's very possible that the boom angle sensor might get dunked at some point. I'm not sure what will happen to it if it does get wet. Words of experience, anyone?
