Just how do you know, if a radiator repair shop is doing what your billed for??

I've had issues the past few years with my fix it shops for radiators, several in fact, I know I'm a slow learner, so it took several repeat radiators to get the jest of being scammed and billed for having done nothing but giving it a nice coat of paint and cashing my checks of course.

How do you guys handle radiators, do you fix them when they leak, do you have them cleaned when major engine work is done,...
