JD 444C Push/Pull Throttle Cable Sticking

My 444C loader throttle cable is sticking, it tends to be worse when its cold. It makes it much less usable having to manually decelerate the throttle with your hand. Is there anything that it can tend to be, or do I just have an old cable that's getting tight and need a newer one?
