Hydraulic Line Busted in Digger

vendredi 26 février 2016

Hey all,

Thanks in advance for any help.

I own a very old (6k hrs) JD 210C Backhoe. One of the lines that goes through the boom itself has busted. Most others that have not busted recently look like they are about ready to bust.

I have experience in a prior profession running cable in buildings, and when you replace a cable in a wall, you tie another cable to it, and pull the new cable in as the old cable goes out.

Is there a similar technique for hydraulic lines? I have been Googling the heck out of it and just can't seem to find much on it. Any video I look up on YouTube on how to repair hydraulic lines just shows how to replace a line that is easy to access.

My main question is if this is the technique, what kind of line is used that can hold up and not snap off or get snagged. With cables, you are cutting off the ends, so you can tie a tight knot then just chop it off and wire it in. Is there a tool or technique for hydraulic lines?

Thanks!

DB
