G'day All
Have just replaced leaking seal & collapsed bearings on the front L/H axle of my S130 Bobcat, I left the chain drive all attached & rolled it out of the way to replace the bearings without pulling the whole box apart. Have got it all back together now, just wondering is there any set way of setting the preload on the tapered roller bearings? So you just do the sprocket retainer bolt up FT? Doing this bolt up pulls the shaft through the bearing until it's seated. Any little tips that I haven't thought about? Didn't want to over tighten bolt & load up the bearings to much. Or will it just take it up until it sits on the shoulders of shaft & sprocket? Thanks in advance.
