Been digging into My D65 to find out why it seems so sluggish if it's sluggish at all. The few guys that have driven it are split on weather its just me being picky or whether it does have a bit of a problem. We have determined that the tranny, clutches and brakes are fine just out of adjustment. The problem seems to be the torque converter or the fluids. All filters are clean except for the suction filter which looked like the picture shown.
I have a couple of questions regarding the fluids and how they flow thru the machine. Does the fluid for the torque converter also go thru the transmission? When i was under the dozer draining the fluid to get the filter out there didn't seem to be that much. I'm assuming the scavenge pump feeds the tranny pump? Another thing that was weird was how thick the oil was, almost too thick. What type of oil should it use?
Another odd thing is after running for at least 30 minutes the bellhousing seems to pressurize and push oil out of bolts, like the starter bolts. Is there a breather somewhere that's clogged? I cant find it if there is.
