Hi all,
I had an account here several years ago, but haven't used it in a long time, so I had to start over because I couldn't remember what ID I had used.
Anyway, I have a John Deere 860 scraper that has started making a loud clicking noise that seems tied into the transmission. It makes the noise regardless is the drive shaft turning or not, but the sound changes when put into gear. I also just discovered that it changes tones when I flip the electronic trans disengage switch. Everything seems to work fine, but this noise bothers me, as its loud enough to hear over the roar of the engine. It started out doing it only when the machine was warmed up, but after replacing the filters this morning, now it does it right from the start. I found metal shavings in the filter, and some looked like brass? I can feel vibrating in the metal lines going to trans and filter. Could air in the sytem cause this? If so, where do I bleed it? Can't figure out exactly where the sound is coming from. Don't know much of the history, other than previous owner had engine rebuilt. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated!
On a side note, anybody have a pdf of the manual?
Jon
