Hey folks just wanted to give an update on my 270 JD with the slow boom lift and bucket curl. The problem was upon cold startup the boom lift and bucket curlback is very slow. What I found was that the inline hydralic lockout solenoids were not working properly but I have no idea why, furthermore why two seperate lockouts on two different circuits would go bad at the same time. The magnetic coils were working and the valve stem would click when voltage was applied but the valve would not open or would not open fully resulting in restricted flow to the up side of the boom cylinder and to the curl back side of the bucket cylinder. I took the valve stem out of the solenoid block and put a plug in it and the boom worked fast..... real fast, stupid fast, like able to drive fence posts with the bottom of the bucket fast. So I figured maybe that wasnt a good idea to leave it that way and took the plug back out put the old valve stem back in thinking maybe some debris or cylinder packings or something wouldnt let the valve open and circulating oil thru the block would push it out but no change, boom still slow to lift. Went to my deere dealer bought 2 new valve stems put them in used the old magnetic coils and so far the machine works fine. Just went out tonight in 6 degree temps and put a bale of hay out for the horses and it worked great. Sorry I didnt post this sooner but the holidays are a bit hectic for me too much running around.
If anyone has a theory as to why these valves would go bad at the same time I would love to hear it. Thanks.
