cycle times deere 245 vs kobelco 260srlc

dimanche 2 août 2015

Currently renting a 2013 kobelco 260sr. I like the size and comfort of the machine, but it seems a bit slow. Thinking of swapping the machine out with a new deere 245. Comparing specs the deere has greater breakout force with comparable stick sizes. I have run 235 deere machines in the past and they seemed faster.

The project I am using the machine for is 18000 feet of new waterline. Average cut is around 7ft deep and I'm pulling a 3' wide shield. Currently have about 8000 feet in the ground, but running about 30 percent behind on daily production. Hoping a faster machine could speed things up. Daily job costs are around $6000, so any increase in production would help.

Thanks in advance for any advice. Have read quite a bit on the site over the years, but this is my first post.
