sunk the old girl today. then it got bad.

Was going down a tree line to cross a creek. Right before the creek there was a depression, which was a soft spot. Only noticed it sinking when the tracks started spinning. Tried backing out but no go.

2 hours well spent, 3 trees cut down and jammed under each track until it got high enough to climb out. Because it's a buncher-feller made excavator, the stick and boom don't work while driving, but lucky for me the bucket worked. Would not have got her out without it.

While sunk, a 6 foot long bracket that seems like it once held some sort of belly covering, it broke off. Lucky me, the bracket was on the right side under the hydraulic tank, when it came off it missed the engine and took out the fuel line, sheared it off flush with the tank. At least I think it missed it, I need to see if there is oil in it tomorrow. Whatever that bracket was, it was bent in half from the force of being torn off or where it jammed against the tank, I don't know.

Called the ministry to report the 1/3 tank of fuel being dumped, tried to clean it up. That was fun.

The only easy-out broken bolt remover in town was too small, tomorrow I have to get a bigger one and try to repair. But yes, the fuel line was sheared off and it still came out of the hole. That, after yesterday the fuel filter clogged. Previous owner left one spare set, was easy fix.
