Fiat allis 65 motor grader transmission troubles

I have a older fiat allis 65 motor grader that has been abused for a long time before I bought Tha asphalt company it came with. Last week I had it hang In between gears and after looking the seal on the front of the transmission behind the parking brake drum was out. So after pulling the drum off the roller bearing was not even in the race allowing the front of the shaft to go up and down tearing the seal out and hanging gears up. And $500 for a new race and bearing I found out the ring that keeps the race from going to far in transmission was missing letting the race go in the tranny in turn letting the shaft fall down. So after fixing and and replacing all the bearing and seal and running it now has a loud banging in the rear end. My question does the shaft run all through the tranny to the clutch to the rear differential or does anyone have a book on this machine. The machine smokes and leaks oil and is a old gas burner motor and I'm trying to decide to tear it apart or scrap it. Thanks for any advice
