Welded my clutch back together

samedi 22 octobre 2016

My f600 had started geting a little vibration when it was under a pull. It was something that if you hadnt drove it alot you wouldnt know it was there. When i got the truck i had bought another with a fresh rebuilt engine that i was going to use because i know the one in it need rebuilt. I planed on makeing 2 trips with it then swaping engines i end up makeing 25 trips and useing it alot close to home. I was going to swap it out but something came up and i thought one more trip would be ok. I was half way there when something poped and it wouldnt pull any more. I called my brother and while i was seting there i pulled the clutch dust cover it had some parts in it. We pulled the trans and went to a buddys shop to find a used clutch no luck no one had one or could find a new one to order so we went back to my shop and out of 5 clutches i had from fords build in that era no luck so i welded the center back in with out the springs. We were about done 20 minites to 5:00 with just the shifter to put back in witch i did and some how the pins that hold it in place didnt go back in. 9 miles to go to get unload over some bad hills was interesting with the shifter floating around and the 2 speed switch laying in the seat but i made it and got my load dumped and got in the office to get payed wright at 5:00. I didnt have alot of faith in makeing it home but i went slow and made it.
