CAT330CL overheating

jeudi 26 février 2015

I have some overheating on my 2006 CAT 330CL with around 11,000 hrs. It seems that the fan motor, which we bought new a month ago, has developed a fault. From what we understand the mechanic who installed it seems to have used the wrong procedure to fill the motor with hydraulic oil and make sure the limit valve is set to the correct pressure. Now, another mechanic tried to fix the pump by changing some internal parts, including a metal plate. But even after this repair, the overheating has returned a couple of times. Each time it is repaired the repair involves working on the plate. Typically this solves the overheating for a while, but it eventually returns. Has anyone experienced this? I am thinking that there must be a better solution than this for getting rid of 330CL overheating/faulty fan motor problems. Or is the best alternative buying another fan motor or are there some internal parts we can buy from CAT and change out?

Thanks
