I came across a CAT 320 D where the display is completely dead. The machine still cranks, but does not start. After some questions to various technicians, I was told that they disconnected the main connector to the injectors while the machine was switched on and reconnected it. The machine was only on and not running. According to my knowledge, it should not blow the screen or cause any malfunction to ECM or screen. I found the problem why the machine switched off immediately, the water separator was completely clogged. There is diesel going to injectors now, machine is cranking, but does not start. with quick start it fires and then just cranks afterwards.
The problem did apparently happen after they removed the injector connector. Could they have shorted the batteries when they put it back to create this problem?
