I would like to say thanks to this forum I figured out the problem with with my backhoe shutting down shortly after starting it. The retaining ring on the governor was breaking apart and plugging the check valve on the return line from injectors. While I was checking the timing I noticed a cream colored oil on the flywheel, looks like water mixed with the oil. This is a 500c backhoe with power shift trans. From what I can tell from reading about this transmission it uses a wet clutch. Is this normal on the flywheel I have to keep wiping it off with a rag as I turn the flywheel to find the tdc. I checked the hydraulic/transmission fluid and it looks clean. Is this oil around the flywheel from the same source as the hydraulic/trans. or is there a different place to drain and add oil to the clutch area. any help would be appreciated.
