I've got a 1970 JD450B crawler/dozer and the hydraulic system is contaminated with water. I have drained the reservoir and replaced with new fluid but what is in the system is still milk white. I suspect that there is quite a bit of water in the cylinders themselves and had hoped that if I drain and re-fill the reservoir a few times I may be able to get most of the water out but not sure if that will work.
Will my drain and fill/drain and fill idea work or am I gonna have to drain the entire system? If so can anyone suggest a way to completely drain the system so that I can start fresh?
