Hi All
Please can someone help.
I have a JCB TLB 2004 model with a perkins RE engine. The other day my operator mentioned that the machine is loosing power and eventually dies. If we blow the fuel line from the lifter pump back to the diesel tank, the machine starts up fine and works again with no problem. I drained the fuel tank and cleaned it just to make sure there is no dirt getting stuck in the pipe. I have a new lifter pump fitted about 2 weeks ago.
Yesterday my operator complained again about the machine loosing power and then died again, and we cant get it started again. I thought there could be air in the system so we bleed it a couple of times making sure the diesel was coming out from the injector pipes before it goes into the injectors. All pipes were pushing out diesel, no sign of any starting of machine.
I know i should not use quickstart, but i tried a little bit over the air intake just to see what happens. It wants to start but then dies when you pull away the cloth. It seems almost like the diesel is not getting into the chamber through the injectors. I had my 4 injectors fitted with new tips ( NB..they are not new injectors) about 2 months back.
Could it be that the injectors are blocked, or am I on the wrong track.....How can i test the injectors.
Things I have checked.
1) Enough diesel in tank
2) Sediment bowl clean and not sucking air
3) Lifter pump new and diesel filter new and is pumping good into the injection pump
4) All 4 injection pipes are spraying into the injectors.
If I hold the injector outside the machine (i bent the pipe a little to do this) and crank the motor, will the injector still spray diesel or must it be inside the head........excuse my ignorance, because it does not spray.
Hope I explained everything
Thanks
