I have just bought a 1998 Hitachiex200-5. I have never operated or owned a machine before. The machine was inspected prior to purchase and showed new engine oil, new swing drive oil, and new final drive oil. I am looking for a manual to try to figure out appropriate interval to perform service on machine. Until I find a manual, what inspection or checks should I perform on an older machine on a daily or frequent basis?
1. Site glass level for hydraulic oil - performed with cylinders extended I believe.
2. Engine oil - pretty sure I can figure that out.
3. Swing drive - does this have a dipstick for checking?
4. Pump drive gearbox - how do I check this out?
5. Track tension- not sure at all how to check for appropriate track tension, I understand this is very important as I am not interested in tossing a track. I think I am supposed to use a grease gun to pump up idler pulley to provide tension.
Anything else I should look for before I start playing with my new toy in the morning?
Thanks,
Alan
