580 Super K check fluids Q.

I am borrowing a 580 Super K from a friend and would like to know the proper way to check the Trans and Hydraulic fluid levels... I asked if he had a manual and he doesn't and wasn't sure how to check the levels himself. For the trans... In neutral with the engine running?

And the hydraulic's... With the backhoe in the stored position and the bucket on the ground?
